"Working with clients with acquired or congenital limb loss"

When an individual has an amputation, planned or sudden, they are likely to feel that they have lost an integral part of themselves and are, at least for a time, less than they once were.  From a psychological point of view, rehabilitation is about the gradual adjustment to a new found reality.   During the break out session I will share with you the nature of the work with this client group.

Lisa Ferguson is a Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Senior Specialist Rehabilitation Counsellor.  She works at a Specialist Rehabilitation Centre with the NHS for individuals with acquired or congenital physical and neurological disabilities and in private practice. She trained at WPF and has done subsequent trainings in CBT at WPF, the Tavistock for Trauma and DIT and Babette Rothschild's Somatic Trauma Training.
